Before you receive a housing assignment

All first-year students are required to live on campus. Find out more about the residency requirement, or apply for housing.

Think this requirement shouldn’t apply to you? You may submit an residency exemption request.

You can review our Application Guide (PDF) for more information and a step-by-step walkthrough of the housing application.

Do you have a medical condition we should know about? New Fall 2019 residents should submit any medical requests by April 1, 2019.

Check out our residence halls and find out which halls you are eligible for. Please review the rates for each residence hall as you prepare to make housing decisions.

Make sure you log back into your housing application to search for a potential roommate! Our Roommate Guide can walk you through this process.

More information about Freshman Room Selection will be available in the spring, and you will start receiving emails with info at your Crimson Email.

After you receive a housing assignment

Still have some questions about moving on campus as a first-year student? Read through our Freshman FAQs.

Not happy with your housing assignment? You may submit a room change request to be reviewed at various times throughout the academic year. The first room change form will open in late May 2019 and can be accessed by logging back into your housing application and selecting room change.

Be sure to check our Move-In information for updates through the summer on the move-in schedule, packing tips, and much more!

If your plans have changed and you are no longer planning on attending UA, you should submit a Contract Release Request.

You can find out about hall closings and break information on our Residential Calendar.
