End of Fall 2019

Residence halls close for winter break at 10 a.m. CDT on Saturday, December 14. We allow students to leave all of their belongings if returning to UA for spring semester.

End of Spring 2020

All residence halls close at 10 a.m. CDT on Saturday, May 2 for undergraduates. We require all resident check out within 24 hours of their last exam. Graduating seniors and members of approved groups may stay beyond 24 hours after their last exam, but must still check out in time for the closing of residence halls on Saturday, May 2. If you need a personal extension, complete the Extension Request form sent to your Crimson email in early April by Friday, April 19 at 8 a.m.

Your RA posts available times for check out appointments. Sign up for an appointment at least 24 hours in advance of your projected departure. If unable to check out during any of these times, check with other building staff or your community’s front desk.

For checkout, you and your RA go through your empty room, noting any differences in the condition of your room from Move-In to check-out in order to complete Room Condition Report and then turn your keys. Not checking out with your RA may result in easily avoidable fees.

Summer Storage

HRC does not provide summer storage or storage of belongings prior to Move-In. If looking for summer storage, Collegiate Bed Loft Company offers a summer storage program. They provide boxes, packing materials, pick up your belongings, and bring it back in the fall. They accept orders for the summer during the preceding spring.  Space is limited. If you have any questions, email customerservice@collegiatebedloftcompany.com.
