Residents have access to campus mail and included utilities. Learn about these services and the departments that oversee them.

Wifi

Connect to Xfinity Wifi with your myBama username and password. Instructions are available at https://oit.ua.edu/services/internet-networking/housing-internet/. Do not use hotspots or bring wireless routers, as this causes significant interference with UA’s wireless network. For internet issues, contact the Office of Information Technology at 205-348-5555 or itsd.ua.edu.

Cable

All residents have access to Xfinity On Campus, a streaming TV solution with over 220 live TV channels, along with OnDemand content and DVR. Residents can access this service on laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and other compatible devices. To stream on a traditional TV, use Roku, Chromecast, or select Samsung or LG Smart TVs. You will need to provide your own television and/or streaming device. If you are in a shared room, we suggest communicating with your roommate to decide who will bring a TV.

Laundry

All residence halls have access to laundry. Bama Cash is the only way to pay for laundry services via your mobile ACT Card. In Highlands, the laundry room is in the Highlands Commons.

Wash- $1.50 per cycle

Dryer- $1.25 per cycle

For safety reasons, mattress toppers should not be placed in dryers.

Mail

Do not address packages to the student’s residence hall. Parcel lockers are available for students in Bryce Lawn, Presidential 1, Presidential 2, Paty, and Tutwiler for package pickup. Visit the Campus Mail Site for up to date mail information or contact them at 205-348-7807 or cmscenter@ua.edu.
