The 2023-2024 housing application for incoming freshmen opens Monday, October 3, 2022, at 9 a.m. CDT. In order to apply for housing as a new incoming freshman, a student must be admitted to the University and pay the freshman enrollment deposit.
To apply for housing (after the above are true) for the 2023-2024 academic year, click on the “Apply for Housing” link below, log in using your myBama credentials, and select “Academic Year 2023-2024.” For assistance, review our Application Guide. Your housing application is not complete until you have submitted:
All incoming freshmen are required to participate in the Freshman Residency Program, unless they meet at least one criterion for exemption.
If you apply for housing and then decide not to attend UA, cancel your housing application prior to May 1 to receive a $140 full refund on your prepayment; by June 1 to receive a partial refund of $100; or by June 15 to receive a partial refund of $50. The cancellation request form for 2023/2024 opens in the myHousing portal on December 1, 2022.
We anticipate that limited space will also be available for current campus residents and incoming transfer students, and more information about the application for returning students and incoming transfer students will be available later this fall.
In order to apply for housing, you will need your myBama username and password.
Incoming freshmen who will be taking UA courses this summer can live on campus for one or more summer terms (Summer I, Summer II or both). The application for summer housing is a separate application than the housing application for Academic Year 23-24 for fall and spring. Interested students need to apply for Summer Housing as well as fall and spring, if applicable. Summer housing assignments are in different buildings than the academic year. Students will be assigned to an available space for summer in one of the summer buildings. Students should be prepared to move their belongings from their summer building to the fall building at the end of summer term.
