What better way is there to welcome incoming students to campus than with a smile and a helping hand, making the stressful Move-In process a little easier? Move-In volunteers provide a valuable service to our new incoming students and offer a warm welcome to our campus. Whether you are an individual, student organization, local business, faith-based, or civic group help us welcome the fall incoming class to campus as a Move-In Volunteer!

  • Volunteers receive a t-shirt to wear identifying them as a Move-In volunteer
  • Volunteers working shifts until the noon hour will be provided with lunch.

Are you a UA student? A member of a student organization? In addition to the above, you can receive SLPro hours and funding for your registered student organization.

Volunteers are asked to sign up for one (or more) 4 hour shift during the following dates and times. All Move-In Volunteers will attend a mandatory meeting before their first shift. The meeting is built into the shifts listed below. Student volunteers may only work on behalf of one student organization per shift. More details will be provided once you are confirmed as a Move-In Volunteer.

If I volunteer, what will I be doing?  We need your help with:

  • Welcoming residents and their families to facilitate a smooth transition from arrival to the unloading zone
  • Working alongside UA personnel to help parents/residents unload personal items from vehicles into moving carts
  • Providing assistance with the transition between unloading zones and the resident’s room
